The Unknown Biblical Israel
The objective of this course is to KNOW THE HISTORICAL, POLITICAL, SOCIAL AND SPIRITUAL CONTEXT OF BIBLICAL TEXT ON THE BASIS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL FINDINGS.
The program offers a tour through archaeological sites unknown by a majority of Israel’s visitors such as Khirbet Qayafa, Tel Lachish or Gamla. They always go with renowned historians and archaeologists. This includes involvement in archaeological excavations and guided visits by historians to the most important museums.
Additionally, the program combines a one-day opening conferences at the Hebrew University along with study visits to Bible sites where the study is taking place on-site. Besides the Bible, contemporary historical sources such as Flavius Josephus and others will be used during the study visits.
